WES 4th grade students recently completed a 2 month project on the science and technology of musical instruments through the SOLID Project with the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. They learned about sound waves from a Science Center educator and explored how instruments make sound with a Sheldon teaching artist.
Students built their own instruments in Miss Gerth’s Art/Tech classes and played them in Mrs. Reiter’s music class. Select students were honored at a special art gallery opening featuring their work.
