It is my pleasure to serve as the Principal at Wingate Elementary School! Before serving as Principal at WES and MES, I was a teacher for 9 years. I received my Bachelor's degree at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and my Specialist's degree also from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. My husband and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have three sons ages 18, 16, and 12. All three of my sons are active in a variety of sports, and that's where you can usually find me if I'm not at work.
I love my job because I love working with teachers, students, and parents each day! We are so lucky to have such a dedicated, loving staff and the most supportive and positive parents in the area. We pride ourselves on the great relationships we are able to build with students and families.
The Chain of Command in schools is similar to that in most business settings. If you have a question or concern, please reach out to your child's teacher first. In most cases, our teachers will be able to resolve this with you. If not, then please contact our Assistant Principal, Trevor Reed.
Thanks in advance for all the support you will give your child and your child's teacher this school year. There are many ways for parents to get involved at WES. Please reach out to your child's teacher and he or she can share how best for you to do this.
Yours In Education

Mr. Trevor Reed, Assistant Principal
I have the privilege to serve as an Assistant Principal here at Wingate Elementary School. I hold a Master’s degree from Lindenwood University in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from McKendree College. I began my educational career at Mascoutah Elementary in 2006 as a fourth grade teacher. In 2015, I moved to Wingate Elementary School where I taught third and fourth grade. Then I started the position of Dean of Students. And after spending time as the Assistant Principal at Mascoutah Elementary, I am excited to continue my role as Assistant Principal here at Wingate Elementary School.
I understand that community is essential for a successful school. Throughout my time within the Mascoutah School District I have built close working relationships with staff, students, and families alike. I look forward to building these same positive and trusting relationships while continuing the best practices that are reflective of Wingate Elementary School and the school vision: ENGAGING EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY, IN QUALITY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.
I value feedback and would be happy to answer questions regarding our school. Please feel free to contact me.
Yours in Education,
Trevor Reed
