!8th Grade Fiesta Day!
Our celebration will take place on December 18th, the day after the Spanish final, during regular class time.
I will share a sign-up sheet on Google Classroom with each student’s name already listed. Please find your name and write the item you will be bringing next to it. Make sure to double check you're not putting down something someone already signed up for.
I’m excited to celebrate the end of the semester with all of you!
Spanish Club
Our end of the year festivities will take place on the third Thursday of the month after school until 3:30, on December 18th.
We’ll be “traveling” to Spain for our end-of-year celebration and experiencing how New Year’s is celebrated there; with flan, friends, flamenco and fun!
In Spain, it’s traditional to walk around the neighborhood with an empty suitcase to bring good luck and encourage more travel in the coming year. I look forward to all of the adventures and more "travels" we’ll share together next year.
Braves Bungalow
The November/December Braves Bungalow will take place today in the cafeteria. Students who were selected as November/December Cool Characters and Students of the Month will be rewarded with pizza and a drink during lunch hours today.
¡Feliz Año Nuevo!
The 2026 MMS Scholar Bowl season is fast approaching. Scholar bowl is a team competition where we compete 5 on 5 against other schools in the area to see who knows the most math, science, ELA, social studies, pop culture, fine arts, and sports content. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday December 16th and Thursday, December 18th until 4:00 each day. Practices and matches will begin in January and will be every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Scholar Bowl is open to all students grades 6-8. See Mr. Spaeth (room 518) to get an informational flyer and to inquire for more information.
No Photography Club this week. Our next meeting will be on January 8th.
The 2nd Quarter Reward Party, movie and a snack, will take place the week of January 5-9. Students must meet the following criteria during 2nd quarter to qualify for the party: 4 or fewer total discipline incidents and no ISS or OSS.

Our November Teacher of the Month is 7th Grade Math Teacher, Miss Wilke. Students report that Miss Wilke is a great teacher who is kind, understanding, patient, fun, and has a great sense of humor. Congratulations Miss Wilke!!!
Three students will be randomly selected each week for a prize if they’ve completed their agendas all week. Students will be called to the office over the intercom at random times throughout the week. If your name is called, come to the office with your agenda. If your agenda has been completed all week, including with a goal written at the beginning of the week, you will receive a swag bag full of great prizes. Good luck!
